Emergency Life Support Training for the public

Salford Heart Care works with Heartstart Salford, the local branch of Heartstart UK, to show our volunteers, members, families & friends Emergency Life Support skills.

70% of all cardiac arrests (where the heart stops due to injury, illness or trauma) are witnessed by a family member or friend.  What a great way to do your best if this was your family member or friend by finding out how to help save their life in an emergency.

The skills you will be shown are:
how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
      the recovery position
how to assist someone who is choking
how to assist someone who is bleeding due to trauma
                     helping someone
having a heart attack/chest pains

Public workshops take place at Fire Stations around Salford or can be arranged at your meeting rooms, place of worship, club house or workplace in Salford.  To book a place on a public workshop or to book a Heartstart skills workshop for your group in Salford, contact Ann Wolfendale at Heartstart Salford on 0161 785 2428 or by e-mail: aw@ecclescollege.ac.uk
